The working fluid with good performance should generally have the following characteristics:
It can work stably under the greater energy, under the normal processing conditions, for the workpiece within 100mm, such as 60mm workpiece, the average processing current can reach about 5A, under which condition, the processing efficiency of unit current should be more than 25 mm2 /min·A .For example, the processing efficiency should exceed 100 mm2 /min when the processing current is 4A. The higher thickness (250~350mm) workpiece can also be cut stably.
During processing, there will be a lot of electrical corrosion products (black powder) with the movement of the electrode wire at both ends of the workpiece surface, even with bubbles, which shows that the working fluid has good cleaning and cooling performance in the cut joint. In addition, the workpiece should slide automatically or be easily remove after cutting, and the workpiece surface has uniform color, white stripes, and no reversal stripes.
There is no definite concept about the service life of the working fluid, and generally reduce the processing efficiency by more than 20% as a basis of the replacement of working fluid. A box of work fluid (40 liters), and its normal service life is about 80~100 hours (about 6~10 days). The cutting efficiency may decrease significantly if the use time exceeds this value that is the service life of the working fluid. For emulsified oil, most operators used to add water and primary liquid to continue processing, but this method will shorten the service life of the working liquid for compound working fluid, instead, it adds to the cost. Therefore, for the JIARUN working fluid, it is recommended to replace all the working fluids after the cutting efficiency has been reduced.
Good performance working fluid has great chip removal performance and cutting speed, and it will become black more easily, however, which doesn’t mean invalid. So it’s not accurate to use the color of the working fluid as the criterion of service life.
